Although the City of Waterloo Provides its citizens with 24-hour police protection the Office is only staffed Monday thru Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m (Weekends and Holiday's excluded). Forms, bicycle licenses and other general information can only be accessed at our office during these hours. After these business hours and when our office is not staffed, non-emergency calls are forwarded to the dispatch center at the Jefferson county Sheriff's Department. Non-emergency information is then relayed to the officers on duty.

The City of Waterloo is serviced by an enhanced 911 emergency phone system. This number is only to be used in the case of an emergency. When dialing 911 your call is answered by a dispatcher at the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. After obtaining your information the dispatch center will relay your call for emergency assistance to the Waterloo Police Department. When your call is answered the dispatcher is provided with on screen information that includes your telephone number, name and address. This provides Law Enforcement with valuable information should your call be disrupted.
